Lac de Portheil & Pas de la Crabe

Easy to moderate From La Mongie

A peaceful and preserved lake, easily accessible from La Mongie. Beyond the lake, the Pas de la Crabe ('little goat pass' in Pyrenean dialect) offers a spectacular panorama over the Aygues Cluse valley. Exceptional Pyrenean flora with over 4,500 plant species.

Lac de Gréziolles & Refuge de Campana

Moderate From Artigues

A hike leading to a breathtakingly beautiful lake, surrounded by pines giving the landscape a Mediterranean feel at altitude. Through the Pla de Garret pastures, views of the Laquets reservoir and Canderolles lake. Option to continue to Campana refuge.

Elevation gain: ~600m 4-5h round trip Well marked

Start: parking at hairpin bend after the Arizes waterfall (Artigues village)

La Montagnette (2,235 m)

Moderate From La Mongie

Fantastic panorama from the 2,235 m summit with views of the Binaros lakes and Lac de l'Oeuf. Through the Tramezaygues huts and Col d'Arizes. The ridge offers spectacular views throughout.

Family-friendly hike offering a 360° panoramic view from Petit Monné: Pic du Midi de Bigorre, Montaigu, Campan valley, Casque du Lhéris, Arbizon. Through a beautiful beech forest with remarkable flora (crocus, Montpellier pinks, bellflowers).
